Donate money for films? Why?!?
Bill and Katrina work their tails off to give their kids a nice home. But they also don’t live at their jobs. Family is their focus. They don’t live to work, they work to live. Carol picks up the younger kids and Bill picks up their middle schooler. Dinner was a smashing success. Bill tried his hand at a little Asian and Mexican fusion. They enjoyed a nice meal with as a family, except Emma, their nine year old, snaps at Hannah, the youngest, for looking at her wrong.
After dinner, Bill and Katrina sit down with Emma to find out why she has had such a change of behavior over the last couple of months. Emma rebelliously stares at the ground with her arms crossed. She’s not talking. She’s sent to straight to bed grounded for a week. Bill and Katrina get the rest of the kids to bed and retreat to their bedroom where they discuss Emma’s rebellious behavior.
Bill and Katrina realize they need to monitor what Emma is watching. They comb through the watch history on the different streaming platforms and each child’s streaming profile. They come across a horrifying animated show on Emma’s Amazon Prime profile called, “Hazbin Hotel”. They’ve never heard about it.
They watch the trailer, and both of them immediately are sickened to their stomachs. Murder, sexuality, satanism, rebellion against God. This vile show is satanic propaganda targeted towards children. The demons are the good guys, and God and the angels are the bad guys. The demons look cute and pretty while the angels look like monsters.
Bill and Katrina begin to research current kid’s content and are even more horrified to discover the amount of anti-Christian and sexual propaganda has permeated kids content. They don’t feel like it’s safe to allow their children to watch ANYTHING they haven’t approved first! They start watching faith-based content for the first time. Unfortunately, much of the older faith-based content looks and sounds low quality.
Does this sound familiar? Does this story resonate with you? You enjoy watching shows and movies, but it seems like you’re between a rock and a hard place. Fortunately, with the rise of faith-based content from the likes of Capernaum Studios, Angels Studio, Affirm Films (Facing the Giants, Courageous, and Fireproof), Sherwood Pictures (founded by Alex Kendrick), Provident Films (a division of Sony Music Entertainment), Pure Flix, Kingdom Story Company, and Loaves & Fishes Productions (The Chosen), the quality of faith-based film content is improving.
But making good films and shows require money. Remember, almost all Christian films written and produced as Indie Films. They don’t have a hundred years of studio money and investor backing. They rely on funding from people like you. People like Bill and Katrina’s family. If you want more content that doesn’t support today’s worldly agenda and you like being involved in supporting God’s Kingdom, help fund faith-based Indie films.
Let’s face facts, faith-based Indie filmmakers are in a battle with the established Hollywood studios. And they HATE the Indie film industry, because they don’t control the Indie film industry. Look, you don’t have to make films yourself. If everyone that had a few dollars to give did, we can beat the large studios.
North Texas Arts Foundation was created for this purpose. To help provide financial support for filmmakers, artists, and musicians who have a calling to serve Jesus through their art.
Whether you are one person, a family, or a business owner, you can finance a new generation of faith-based content for yourself and your family to enjoy.
